Using magic for the first time to take down the bad guy. Adding some platforms into level 1. Enemies, music, sound effects, and GUI coming soon. The framework for the first level, which will take place on a highway just outside of New Tokyo. Multi-layer parallax test in Construct 3. I threw in the scorpion because I'm planning on using a scorpion (not this one, it's just a placeholder) as the boss of the first level. All physical attacks are now in the game, in very rough draft form. Sorry about the Bandicam box at the bottom. That's my screen recording software, but I should have made sure that it was hidden before recording the video. This video is a movement test using the Construct 3 engine. The level is from the NES version of the original Ninja Gaiden. How did I put Suzu in a level from an old NES game? Good question, but you'll have to figure the answer out on your own. After a too-long delay, I've decided to add a videos page to the website. All the latest gameplay videos will be listed here. I've decided to do it in blog format so that you can see the evolution of the game as it takes shape. Here are the very first two vids: This is a movement test, showing Suzu's idle, run, and jump animations. The background is all placeholders; the buildings are there to show off the game's multi-layer parallax scrolling. I'm still working on adding in the standing attack animation. This is Suzu in her room. This background was custom-made for the game and I think it's a keeper, as I love the hand-drawn aesthetic of both Suzu and the room itself. Suzu might be a tad too big for the room in her current position, so I may have to re-position her in the room to fix this (the closer she is to the bottom of the screen, the smaller she looks in relation to everything else).
